1. About this policy
Wonderly provides stories, reading activities, reviews, newsletters, subscriptions, and related features for families and young readers. This Privacy Policy explains what information Wonderly may collect, how that information may be used and disclosed, and the choices available to parents, caregivers, and other adult users.
This policy applies to the Wonderly website, emails, subscriptions, and other online services that link to it (collectively, the “Service”). It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that may be linked from the Service and have their own privacy practices.
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.
2. Information Wonderly may collect
Information provided by adults
Wonderly may receive information that a parent, caregiver, subscriber, or other adult chooses to provide, including:
- Account and contact information: name, email address, login credentials, and account preferences.
- Subscription information: selected plan, subscription status, renewal or cancellation status, and related transaction records.
- Communications: questions, feedback, support requests, survey responses, and other messages sent to Wonderly.
- Reading preferences: age range, interests, favorite stories, saved content, or other preferences selected to personalize the experience.
- Newsletter choices: email preferences, delivery settings, and records of subscription or unsubscription requests.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information that is not necessary to use the Service.
Payment information
If an adult purchases a paid subscription, payment information may be collected and processed by a third-party payment provider. Depending on the provider, Wonderly may receive limited billing details such as a transaction identifier, payment status, card brand, last four digits, billing country, or expiration information. The payment provider’s privacy notice governs its handling of payment credentials.
Information collected automatically
When someone uses the Service, Wonderly and its service providers may automatically receive technical and usage information, such as device and browser type, IP address and approximate location, pages viewed, stories opened, time spent, referring pages, email interaction data where permitted by law, cookie identifiers, and diagnostic, error, and performance data.
Wonderly may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, understand usage, measure performance, prevent fraud, and improve reliability. Blocking some of these technologies may affect Service functionality.
Information from other sources
Wonderly may receive information from service providers and business partners that help operate the Service, such as hosting providers, email platforms, analytics tools, payment processors, authentication services, and customer-support tools, limited to what is needed for the relevant function.

5. Children’s privacy
Wonderly is designed to be selected, subscribed to, and managed by parents, caregivers, teachers, or other adults for the benefit of young readers. Wonderly does not intend to ask children under 13 to create their own accounts or directly provide personal information.
Adults should supervise children’s use of the Service and should not submit a child’s full name, precise location, school, contact details, photograph, voice recording, or other identifying information unless Wonderly has clearly explained why the information is needed and obtained any legally required parental consent.
If Wonderly learns that it collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent when consent was required, Wonderly will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or legal guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact Wonderly using the method described in the “Contact Wonderly” section.
Wonderly does not knowingly use personal information from children under 13 for targeted advertising or knowingly sell such information.
6. Email and communication choices
Adult users may unsubscribe from promotional or newsletter emails by using the unsubscribe link included in those messages or by using available account controls. Wonderly may still send non-promotional messages necessary to provide the Service, such as account, security, billing, trial, renewal, cancellation, or policy notices.
7. Cookies and tracking choices
Most browsers allow users to manage cookies through browser settings. If Wonderly uses cookies or similar technologies that require consent in a user’s location, Wonderly will provide an appropriate consent mechanism. Rejecting optional technologies should not prevent access to core content, although some preferences or measurements may not function as intended.
8. Retention
Wonderly retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Service, maintaining business and transaction records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, meeting legal obligations, and protecting the Service. Information may remain for a limited period in backups or archives after deletion from active systems.
9. Security
Wonderly uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Adult users should use unique passwords, keep login details confidential, and notify Wonderly if they suspect unauthorized account activity.
10. Privacy rights and requests
Depending on where an adult user lives, applicable law may provide rights concerning personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. To make a request, use the contact method described in the “Contact Wonderly” section. Wonderly may need to verify the requester’s identity and authority before acting, and will not unlawfully discriminate against an individual for exercising a privacy right.
California notice
California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, regarding access, correction, deletion, and information about the collection, use, disclosure, sale, or sharing of personal information. Wonderly does not intend to collect sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide and secure the Service.
11. International users
Wonderly may use service providers that process information in countries other than the country where a user lives. Where required, Wonderly will use lawful transfer mechanisms and appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
12. Third-party links and services
The Service may link to websites, applications, or services operated by others. Wonderly does not control those third parties’ privacy or security practices. Users should review the privacy notice of each third party before providing information.
13. Changes to this policy
Wonderly may update this policy to reflect changes in the Service, technology, legal requirements, or business practices. The updated version will be posted on the Service with a revised effective date.
